Run from Winnipeg · For Canadian employers
Payroll, actually run for you.
Not payroll software for you to learn — payroll done by people here. You tell us who worked what hours, approve the period, and we take it from there: the deductions, the remittance to CRA, the slips at year end. The deadlines stop being yours to remember.
- Nothing to pay to ask
- No account created until you agree a figure
- A real firm, not a help desk
Your part takes minutes
One screen per pay period, with the dates and the deadline on it and a reminder by email before it closes. Hours by person, split by category where that matters. Then you are done.
Nobody is paid before you say so
Every period is approved by you, and the approval is kept — what you approved and when — as a PDF you can pull up a year later. Payroll goes wrong quietly; this is the part that makes it answerable.
The CRA side is ours
Deductions, remittances on your remitting schedule, T4s at year end, an ROE when somebody leaves. Not a reminder telling you to do it — done.
Doing your own payroll
- A spreadsheet somebody built once and nobody else understands.
- The remittance deadline, which does not move for a busy month.
- Checking a CPP figure against a table at nine at night.
- Finding out in July that March was wrong, and that interest has been running since.
None of that is running a business. It is running a payroll department you never meant to hire.
Three steps, every pay period
- Put the hours in. Each pay period shows up on its own with its dates and a deadline, and we email you a reminder before it. Enter hours per person, split by overtime, paid sick, paid vacation or stat holiday where you need to.
- Approve it. You see the period before anything is run and approve it yourself. The approval is kept, with the date and what you approved, and you can download it as a PDF whenever you want it.
- We run it, remit it and file it. The deductions, the remittance to CRA and the records. The pay statements appear on your own screen when it is done, and your employee list stays yours to keep current.
What's included
One service, one monthly figure. Not a base price with the parts you actually need sold back to you one at a time.
Every pay period, run for you
On whichever schedule you already use — Weekly, Biweekly, Semi-monthly or Monthly. You submit the hours; the run itself is ours.
Source deductions worked out
CPP, EI and income tax on every pay, for every employee, calculated here rather than by you in a spreadsheet at nine at night.
Remittances to CRA
Your source deductions are remitted on your remitting schedule. The deadline becomes our problem to remember instead of yours.
T4s and year end
Slips for your employees and the summary that goes with them, prepared and filed as part of the service. No scramble in February.
Records of Employment
When somebody leaves, their ROE is prepared and filed. You tell us they have gone; you do not fill anything in.
Pay statements you can hand over
A statement for each employee for each period, as a PDF, ready to download the moment the period is run.
BOGS Accounting is a bookkeeping practice in Winnipeg, not a law firm, and nothing here is tax or legal advice. Your obligations as an employer remain yours; what we take on is the work of meeting them.
Payroll on its own is fine
Plenty of our payroll clients keep their own books, or have somebody else doing them. Payroll is its own subscription and nothing about it assumes the rest.
If you would rather we had the books too, that is BOGS EasyBooks — invoicing, expenses, receipts and the GST/HST tools, subscribed separately and billed separately. See EasyBooks
What it costs
There is no price list here, and that is deliberate rather than coy. Three people paid monthly and thirty paid weekly are not the same job, and a published number would be wrong for one of them in your favour and wrong for the other in ours.
So: tell us the shape of your payroll and we come back with a figure for it. Nothing is charged and no account is created until you have seen that figure and said yes to it.
